The registration service
We offer a truly independent, reliable, fast and secure witnessing service for your work. The registration service provides the very best content and date evidence you need to protect your work against infringement.
- Register
Registrations can be obtained for 5 or 10 year periods.
The size of work that can be registered using the on-line registration and on-line update systems is virtually unlimited. For postal applications, up to 8.5GB of electronic data can be lodged per registration or update (see form for details).
Imediate protection is available when you register on-line.
- Update
If your work evolves after registration, there is a registration update facility available. For full details see our registration updates factsheet.
- Renew
As a registration comes to an end, you will be offered the chance to renew for a further 5 or 10 years. It is also possible to extend any registration with less than 5 years remaining using the online registration renewal form.
Our provision of care policies mean that you can be certain that your work is in safe hands.
Provision of evidence
In the event of any infringement of your work, we can provide evidence to assist in your case. This may take the form of notification, certificates, or the production of a duplicate of the registered item to prove content.
