Top questions
What if my work changes after I have registered it?
Often a copyright work will continue to develop after registration. This is not a problem, any significant updates or changes that you wish to be include can be added as registration updates later. Please see our fact sheet P-17: Updating copyright registrations for details.
Is my work protected internationally?
Yes. Copyright protection is an automatic international right of the author, and copyright will protect your work at a worldwide level. The rules dealing with this are governed by international conventions, principally the Berne Convention, which ensures that countries respect the rights of foreign authors.
Our service provides independent evidence demonstrating the date and content of the submitted work. It should not matter where you are, or where the infringement occurs, the submission is still evidence to support your claim.
